Predictions

Okay, we are 11 days away from the “due date.” We’re beginning to think that “due dates” are more like “guess dates.” How many people really have their babies on their due date? In the Sultze household we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Christian. We still have 11 days though, until he is supposed to be here. This is why we want to hear from you. When do you think Christian will arrive? How many more days do you think will we have to wait? Christian’s dad thinks he will be born on the 30th of July (that’s five days before his August fourth due date). However long it takes Christian to get here, we know that he will be born in the Lord’s timing. We look forward to God’s continuing grace as he “comes into the world.”

The New Arrival

Yesterday was a big day in the Sultze house, our camcorder came in the mail. We have waited a week for it. It was purchased to capture family moments with the kids. Our first project is trying to film Christian's movement in Alyssa's belly. We tried to get him moving last night, but he was a little camera shy. After we put the camera away though, he came right to life and was moving all over the place. The camera is quite cool because it records straight to DVD's. We can just pop it in a DVD player then and watch anything we've recorded.
We are still on the countdown for Christian. Yesterday was the two week mark until the due date. Our bags are packed and ready to go to the hospital whenever the time arrives. Last night we also added more clothes to his closet because Old Navy was have a pretty sweet sale. It's crazy to imagine that someone will be here to fill those clothes pretty soon!

Closet Conundrum

We thought we would give you a glimpse into Christian's closet. It continues to fill up. Not only are there many clothes, but also blankets, toys, shoes, diapers, diaper paraphernalia, bath paraphernalia, bottles, CDs, and DVDs. We've packed most of it into his closet. Some stuff is in our spare dresser, but most of it we have fit in the picture above. We also had a check-up yesterday. All continues to be well. We heard his heartbeat again and he seems to be gaining adequate weight. We both think that Christian has a little while longer to stay inside his Mom's tummy. At this point we are three weeks away from his due date. We are very anxious to meet him and see what he looks like. Sometimes we think Christian is ready to come out too, because he is rolling around in the womb. He often now responds to Tyler's voice, when he talks directly to the tummy. He also has jumped a couple times because of noises Tyler has made on Alyssa's stomach. Tyler thinks it's funny; Alyssa does not think it is funny. We'll be keeping you up to date as we move along.

The New Ride

We thought you might like to check out Christian's new ride! It amazing to think we would get excited over a car seat and a stroller, but that means the reality of Christian finally being in our arms is almost here. The toys on his carseat are a great addition, especially the elephant (thanks grandpa!) Only a few more weeks until there is someone riding in it. Alyssa has been trying to imagine how heavy it will feel with a little person in it. Tyler has been taking imaginary walks with the stroller around the spare room. Obviously you can tell we are anxiously awaiting Christian's arrival. We also have two bases for the carseat. They are already in our cars and ready to go. Tyler still thinks it is wierd to see the little base in the back seat of his car every time he goes to drive. We have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we will find out how close the doctor thinks we are to the arrival date.

The Countdown Begins

With the birth of our first son, Christian Thomas Sultze, less then a month away (Lord willing) there is nothing but excitement and anticipation in the Sultze house. It is a regular occurance for us to head over to the spare room closet and look at all of Christian's "stuff." The closet used to be filled with our stuff, but now Christian's loot has taken over half of the closet. It's amazing how much "stuff" a little baby can acquire and still be in the womb. Alyssa's doctor, Dr. Vanover, has predicted that Christian will be born sometime the end of July and will weigh somewhere in the six pound range. We are holding her to that prediction. After all she has been a doctor for how many years? We really know that the Lord has the timing of Christian's birth already laid out. How sweet it is to rest in knowing Christian's life, as well as our own lives, are in the Almighty's soveriegn, omnipotent, and omniscient hands. With Christian on our minds, I am sure he will dominate the posts! We can tell he already has some attitude.
(Above is a picture of Christian's little foot.)
